The Fabulous French Braid

 Tress the Halls with Braids

September, 2011 (Bethlehem, PA) – The braid craze continues with hipsters looking relaxed and Bohemian-like with a little sum sum to make them stand out.  The trick to adopting the look is confidence and a quick recall of those French braiding days at camp.  Krista Beahm, cool camper and stylist at patrick mcivor color studio, refreshes the glory days in preparation for the holidays.

“The holidays are crazy enough without having to stress about your hair.  I keep it simple with my clients, with a basic understanding of braiding, anyone can look hip this holiday,” explains Beahm.

Simple French Braid
·         Separate a small section of hair where you want the braid to start and apply Matrix Design Pulse Loosely Defined Texture Crème for natural hold.
·         Separate the section into 3 sections (make sure they are even).
·         Cross the section on the right over the middle.
·         Add some hair to the far right side (thin section about the same size as the very first section).
·         Cross the far left section over the middle.
·         Add some hair to the far left side (same amount of hair as added to the right side).
·         Repeat the process until you run out of hair to add and then either continue the braid until there is no more hair left or secure at the end of the French braid with an elastic.

“Once the braid is mastered, you can use it as the foundation of the style and personalize it by doing different things like curling the rest of the hair, straightening the rest, adding a messy side bun or a textured ponytail,” adds Beahm.
